Powell County, Kentucky!

Powell County, Kentucky!

Politically speaking, I am going to be part of bringing this county closer to the year 2010! There are some changes that need to be made in our county government and I intend to be an integral part.

First, we are going to get back to basics. There will be real transparency, accountability and responsibility.

The county leaders are learning that they work for us, not the other way around. I, for one am tired of having to pay (via more taxes) for their wasteful fiscal policies.

"We surround them and they are soon going to know it!"

Dept. of Justice...DO YOUR JOB!

Dept. of Justice...DO YOUR JOB!

Well, well, well, the Department of Justice is obviously lacking in direction! There have been several issues that have come to light recently within the department. One of the most disturbing, is the lack of prosecution in the "New Black Panther Party" voter intimidation case in Philadelphia. The other is, by far, more bothersome. It has to do with the lack of enforcement of the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act.

The MOVE Act is a new law aimed at protecting the right of American Soldiers to vote! Enacted last October, this law is to ensure that servicemen and women serving overseas have ample time to get in their absentee ballots. According to Eric Eversole and J. Christian Adams - both former litigation attorneys for the DOJ's Voting Section, there could be thousands of Soldier's ballots arrive too late to be counted!! Can you say disenfranchised?

How dare they!! I agree with Sen. John Cornyn (R) TX, the Military voters have been disenfranchised for long enough. For far too long, we have failed to adequately protect the right of our Troops and their families to participate in the Election process. It baffles me to think that there are some who would deliberately mistreat THE folks that are away ensuring our freedom in foreign land, amongst people who want to murder them just because they are AMERICAN!

The folks at the DOJ should do the honorable thing! It is THE LAW! If they need instructions, they should refer to the Constitution of our Great Republic. Remember, without our Military, EVERYTHING would be different!

GOD BLESS AMERICA
Have you noticed lately that anytime anyone wants to divert attention away from the issue at hand, they claim that the "other side" is racist?  I wonder if they know what the term racist really means?

Neither side can HONESTLY claim that they have no racist folks in their "movement"!  There, unfortunately, will always be idiots among us.  To say that someone who is proud of their own heritage and wants to promote it is a racist, is an outdated and misguided notion.  The freedom to express pride of our own culture and heritage has come under attack in recent days.  This is so very sad, as,The United States of America is a land of diversity and we should all celebrate that fact.  This Great Republic, founded by immigrants, for the immigrants, you know, for the people, by the people....

It seems that we have lost our way.  We have strayed so far from the instruction manual that our Founding Fathers took a great deal of thought and time to leave for us.  They took the best parts of the governments they came from and wrote the Constitution, a 19 page document written with divine intervention.  Simple common sense.  With Liberty and limited Federal Government as the cornerstones.

We need to look back to that document so we can better move forward.

Racism, in my opinion, is a character flaw.  Pride in race is not.  We just need to get real, stop pretending and stop the hate rhetoric!!  LET'S GET BACK TO THE GOLDEN RULE, IT WORKS!!
